Introduction

"ISACA Santo Domingo Chapter celebrates its General Assembly 2022.
In compliance with its Bylaws, the ISACA Santo Domingo Chapter held last Tuesday, March 29, its Ordinary General Assembly for the year 2022. ISACA Santo Domingo Chapter is a non-profit institution whose primary purpose is to help professionals and their organizations to take advantage of the positive potential of technology, promoting the education of individuals and committed to auditing, risk management, governance and control of technology and information systems, as well as cyber and information security controls.

The activity was attended by more than 50 active members of the chapter, with some special guests and discussed topics of interest to organizations related to the purpose of ISACA, with the presence of the Government Office of Information Technology and Communication (OGTIC), the National Cybersecurity Center of the Dominican Republic (CNCS), the Project Managenent Institute Dominican Republic Chapter (PMI), the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC), technologyINT, the Institute of Internal Auditors of the Dominican Republic (IAIRD), among others. The following are some of the topics addressed:

  • Presentation of the Chapter Board of Directors.
  • Proposed update of the Chapter Bylaws.
  • Cooperation agreements with other institutions.
  • Main activities carried out during the period 2021-2022.
  • Call for elections of a new board of directors for November 2022.
  • Summary of certificate courses and professional certifications delivered during the period 2021-2022.
  • ISACA Community Day, an annual event where every October, the institution makes social contributions, helping people with different needs.
  • Announcement of the ISACA Conference in Latin America for next April 6 to 8, 2022 in virtual mode and free of charge for chapter members.

Among the activities that ISACA Santo Domingo has been carrying out is the "SheLeadtech" program, a program focused on women, with the mission of promoting leadership roles and labor presence within the areas of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
Finally, as part of the Assembly, Mr. Felix Rodriguez, current President of the Chapter, gave an interesting talk under the theme "Strengthening the Control Mindset as a Transversal Axis for Continuous Improvement", regarding ISACA's philosophy of professionally and continuously preparing each one of its members and everything concluded with a "Networking" where attendees and guests shared a toast in a pleasant atmosphere.
