Introduction

Santo Domingo, D.R.- The School of Financial Management and Auditing of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra at its Santo Tomás de Aquino Campus (CSTA), organized a talk entitled "Importance and Structure of Financial Statements". 

The lecture was given by Pedro Urrutia Sangiovanni, founder and managing partner of the firm Moore Stephens, who spoke about the relevance of financial statements for different external and internal users, including tax authorities, banking entities, investors and suppliers. 

Urrutia stressed that all business professionals must have the ability to analyze and interpret accounting and financial information in order to make the best decisions at the corporate level. He also pointed out the approach and structure of the four basic financial statements: statement of financial position, income statement, cash flow statement and statement of changes in equity.

Santa de León, director of the School of Financial Management and Auditing, participated in the training session, which was also aimed at students and faculty of the Business Administration, Economics, Marketing and Hotel Management programs.

The activity was held on October 17, 2017, in Building B1 of the CSTA.
